STOYKA Allene T., 102, of Huntingdon, and formerly of Ebensburg, passed away November 15, 2015 at Westminster Woods Nursing Center, in Huntingdon. Born March 3, 1913 in Ebensburg, daughter of the late George W. and Bertha (Ferguson) Thomas. Preceded in death by 1st husband, D. Paul Stephens, 2nd husband Charles W. Stoyka, son Rodney Lee Stephens, and sisters Lucille Thomas Black and Norine Louise Thomas, also preceded in death by granddaughter Lee Ann Stephens. Survived by son Daniel P. Stephens Jr., Bangor, Maine; and daughter Donne (Bill) Rossiter, Huntingdon and grandchildren Melissa, Dana, Don Paul, Debbie, Dean, Tom Stephens and Lynn Rossiter. A member of Ebensburg United Church of Christ (Congregational) where she was active in the Pilgrim Club, had served as treasurer of the Sunday School and a member of Tres Dias. She had been an active volunteer for the American Red Cross, and had served as a guide for the Cambria County Historical Society. Retired, she had served as a secretary for the US Department of Agriculture ASCS Office. She was also a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m., Friday and from 10:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, the Rev. Chuck Davis, officiating. Interment at Lloyd Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Allene s memory may be made to the Ebensburg United Church of Christ, the Cambria County Historical Society or the charity of your choice.
