PREBISH – Penelope Ann (Evans), 74, Ebensburg, passed away Dec. 16, 2015, at home surrounded by her family. Born July 25, 1941, in Kittanning, daughter of the late Kermit David and Pauline (Folcik) Evans. Preceded in death by husband, Donald F. Prebish; brother, Kermit D. Evans II; and brother, Paul, and his wife, Kathy Evans. Survived by children, Mark D. (Renee) Prebish, Seward; Monica D. (Susan) Prebish and Michelle (Eric) Prebish, both at home; and grandchildren, Mark D. Prebish II and Miranda R. Prebish. Also survived by sister, Paula J. (Jim) Opalka, Butler; and several nieces and nephews. Retired – she had been a registered nurse – her career spanned many years of service to the Ebensburg Center, Torrence State Hospital, SCI Cresson; and The Eastern Orthodox Foundation. Member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, where a funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Monsignor David Lockard, officiating. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Ebensburg, where vigil prayer service will be held. Committal will be held at the family cemetery in Ford City, Pa. In lieu of flowers, donations in Penny’s memory may be made to Discalced Carmelite Nuns, Loretto, or to Starlz Liver Transplant Center.
