LARSON – David L., of Ebensburg, passed away peacefully May 3, 2017 at home. Born June 10, 1939 in Chicago, son of the late Gilbert and Patricia (Burns) Larson. Survived by his wife of 50 years, Andrea (Balko) Larson, and children: David (Jennifer) Larson, State College; Patricia Larson, Monroeville; Sarah (James) Tracy, Swarthmore, Pa.; Amy Larson, Ebensburg; Andrew (Nicole) Larson, Monroeville; Ethan (Lisa) Larson, Parkville, Maryland; and seven grandchildren. Also survived by brothers: Daniel & Jonathan Larson, both of Chicago; Christopher Larson, West Lafayette, Indiana; and Kathie Tallent, of Georgia. David was a retired secondary school teacher for the Chicago Public School System. He served at the Morgan Park High School in Chicago. In his retirement back to Pennsylvania, he served as a full time substitute for the PA. Intermediate Unit – 8; serving Central Cambria School District and the Juvenile Detention Center in Ebensburg. He loved the great outdoors and enjoyed coaching soccer and tennis, having served as tennis coach at Central Cambria in the late 90’s. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m., until the time of funeral service at 12:00 noon, Saturday, May 6th,; at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, Bro. George Balko, officiating. Interment will follow at Lloyd Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to your charity of choice in David’s memory.
