Obituary of Dolores Faye McEvoy

McEvoy Dolores Faye "Dude", 90, of Revloc, passed away Saturday, May, 20, 2017, with family by her side at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born March 19, 1927 in Wehrum, Pa., daughter of the late Albert and Madeline (Doyle) Rager; and wife of the late Robert (Bob) McEvoy. Preceded in death by brothers, Joe, Albert "Bugs", Fred; and sister, Audrey. Survived by sister, Margaret "Peg" Rager, Vintondale and daughters, Lana Chanda, Arizona, and Terri Popp, married to David Popp, Windber. Loving Grandmother to Brandi, wife of Keith Nelson, Las Vegas; Rick Rochelle, Los Angeles; and Jocelyn Popp, Windber. Great Grandmother to Keith and Kennedy Nelson, Las Vegas. Grandchildren were the joys of her life. Dude worked 10 years at the Ebensburg State School in food service. She loved traveling, shopping, music, candy, sewing, and dancing. When music was turned on, you knew you were going to dance. She was known for the Revloc Girls Club, street dances, bake sales, and annual Mayday Coronations. She loved children and children loved her. She loved her porch swing, watching the birds and entertaining kids with sing along songs and her homemade popsicles. She was just fun to be around. We will miss her love of life, her sweet smile, and the way she made us laugh. She was a dedicated wife and an outstanding Mom and will be missed beyond words. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Msgr. David Lockard, officiating. Interment, Holy Name Cemetery.
