ANNA – Colman, 87, Ebensburg, passed away at Amber Hills, Ebensburg. Born June 22, 1930 in Cresson, son of the late Charles J. and Mary Catherine (Lilly) Anna. Preceded in death by wife, the former Anne Battista; brothers Robert J. “Toby”, Lawrence G., and infant brother John. Survived by children: Karen, wife of Robert Frank, Ebensburg; David (Cheryl) Anna, Irwin; Janet, wife of William Olmer, Greensburg; and Dan (Laura) Anna, Glenelg, Maryland. Also grandchildren: Melissa (Bill) Anna, Kimberly, Denise, & Ken Frank, Kaitlyn & Olivia Anna, and Nikolas Anna; and great-grandchildren: Kayla & Kyle Anna. Also survived by his brother Charles F. Anna, Downey, CA; and sisters: Mary Jane (Stanley) Guzic, Greencastle, and Isabel (Patrick) Buynack, Ebensburg. Colman was a member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church where he was active in the Men’s Choir and volunteered for the annual parish festival. He retired from Ebensburg Borough and served on the Borough’s Water Authority. A life member of the Dauntless Fire Company, where he had served as a Fire Policeman and kitchen volunteer. A US Navy veteran of the Korean War, he was a longtime member of the Ebensburg Post #363 American Legion and had been active in the Post’s Legionaires Drum & Bugle Corps in his younger years. He had also served as a driver for the former Askew Ambulance Service and a hearse driver for the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes. An avid fisherman and hunter, he was skilled at fly tying and re-tipping rods, and enjoyed joining his friends at camp. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held and a Fireman’s Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Msgr. David Lockard, celebrant. Interment at Holy Name Cemetery, graveside military rites by local veteran’s organizations. In lieu of flowers, donations in Colman’s memory may be made to the Dauntless Fire Company (envelopes available at the funeral home).
