GELESH - George, 90, of Philadelphia, formerly of Park Hill, went to be with the Lord Sept. 27, 2017. Born May 10, 1927 in Park Hill, son of the late Frank and Bertha (Ozimak) Gelesh. Preceded in death by wife Violet; brothers, John, Charles and Mitch; and sisters, Mary Cosenzo and Irene Grata. Survived by children, George "Randy" (Shirley) Gelesh; Roy Gelesh; and Rhonda (Alan Lerro) Gelesh. Grandchildren, Bart (Shyanne Bruno) Gelesh; Nathan Gelesh; and Lauren (Ryan) Hook. Also survived by sister, Vera O'Hara; and numerous nieces and nephews. Retired Ironworker, Local 451. WW II Army veteran. George was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Edward Pyo, officiating. Interment, Holy Trinity Cemetery. Military Rite by Nanty Glo, Twin Rocks and Vintondale area veterans ritual team. In lieu of flowers, donations in George's memory may be made to the D.A.V.
