STEVENS - Melinda J. "Mindy," 54, Carrolltown, died Nov. 15, 2005, at Select Specialty Hospital. She was born Oct. 26, 1951, in Spangler, the daughter of Eugene and Joan (Farabaugh) Yeckley. She was preceded in death by her father. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, James F. Stevens, whom she married on July 23, 1971; children, James E. Stevens, and his wife, Cristina, Austin, Texas; Mark J. Stevens, and his wife, Marjean, Ebensburg; and Matthew J. Stevens, Baltimore, Md.; and grandchildren, Cristian and Caleb Stevens. She is also survived by brothers and sisters, Sharon Fees, Carrolltown; Diane (Charles) Ertter, Ebensburg; Daniel (Diane) Yeckley, Hershey, Pa.; Mark Yeckley, Elmora; Susie (Randy) Dubetsky, Hastings; Scott (Lorie) Yeckley, Carrolltown; Joan (Beno) Bogus, Carrolltown; Raymond (Tammi) Yeckley, Carrolltown; and Lee Ann (Rob) Berringer, Sarver, Pa.; also by numerous nieces and nephews who loved her very much. She was a 1969 graduate of Bishop Carroll High School. She was a former employee of Cambria County Historical Society and Bearer Appliance. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown American Legion and Carrolltown Fire Club. She was beloved by her friends, neighbors and children and for making Friday a happy day. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Stevens Funeral Home Inc., 146 N. Main St., Carrolltown, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown, by the Rev. Vincent E. Zidek, OSB. Committal, church cemetery.
