McFADDEN - Barbara (Wolf), 92, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 15, 2018. Barbara was born in Ebensburg, PA, on January 22, 1925, and was the last surviving of the late John A. and Edna Evans Wolf’s ten children. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Charles McFadden and son, Jeffrey Scott; by stepmother, Jane Ann (Long) Wolf; by brothers Donald, John Anthony Jr., David Rodney and infant Robert; and by sisters Naomi Annin, Daryle Withington, Leone Eivers, Gretchen Straple and Carol Wolf. She is survived by daughter, Diane (Missy) McFadden and her husband, Lowell Johnson, of Naples, FL; son, Bruce McFadden and his wife, Sandee McFadden of Alpharetta, GA; and by granddaughters, Alexandra McFadden Kubacak (Trey) and Hayley McFadden (fiance, Parker Ramsey). After graduating from Ebensburg Cambria High School in 1942, Barbara worked as a bookkeeper at the Ebensburg Automobile Company, as Executive Secretary and Vice President at LR Kimball Consulting Engineers, and, finally, as the owner of the popular Miss Pinkerton’s Gift Shop, which was her true passion. In 1996, Barbara and Charles moved to Naples, FL, eventually settling in Alpharetta, GA, in 2001. Barbara managed a home, family and full-time job at a time when not many thought it could be done well or even at all. Among so many other things, she enjoyed dancing the jitterbug with husband Chas; gabbing with her sisters and favorite aunt, Louise Jones; baking her famous ham; savoring Mid’s candy; playing bridge; partying and sunning at the seashore with family; sipping Brandy Alexanders; and celebrating holidays, especially Christmas. She had a sense of style not missed by Eddie Shadden (former Ebensburg apparel shop owner) who said “That Barb McFadden would look good in a burlap sack.” She fiercely loved her Chas, her children, her grandchildren... and all the dachshunds that came along for the ride. And they loved her fiercely in return. A gathering to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held March 24 in Ebensburg. Should family and friends desire, memorial contributions may be sent to The Ebensburg Public Library, a local hospice, or charity of choic
