FARABAUGH – Irma A., 93, formerly of Ebensburg, passed away March 19, 2018 at Haida Manor, where she had been a resident for over 12 years. Born August 21, 1924 in Hastings, daughter of the late Jesse M. and Margaret C. (Weakland) Bearer. Last surviving member of her immediate family, she is preceded in death by husband Claude E. Farabaugh, who passed away April 9, 2004; brothers: Irvan, Emory, & Martin Bearer; and sisters Thais Tobias, Vernetta Sessa and Sarah Kibler. Survived by children: Francis R. (Mary) Farabaugh, Hollidaysburg; Allen T. (Jeanne) Farabaugh, Annapolis, Maryland; Kevin G. Farabaugh; Louise M. (Ron) Springer; and Eugene P. (Mary) Farabaugh, all of Ebensburg. Also 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; special sister-in-law Barb Bearer, Blairsville; sister-in-law Rosemarie Farabaugh, Columbus, OH; and brother-in-law Clair R. Farabaugh, Oscoda, Michigan. Irma was a member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, where she was a volunteer for many years, and a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She enjoyed visits by her family and playing pinochle. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Msgr. David Lockard, celebrant. Interment at Holy Name Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Irma’s memory may be made to the Kindred Journey Haiti Fund, 500 North Julian Street, Ebensburg, Pa. 15931
