Obituary of Marie Lieb

LIEB – Marie (Carpinello), 81, of Ebensburg, passed away April 30, 2018 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. Born September 8, 1936 in Hastings, daughter of the late Nicholas and Agnes (Woodley) Carpinello. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter W. “Buck” Lieb, who passed on April 2, 2018; grandson Derek Walter Westrick; infant granddaughters Lyndie, Lauren, and Lee Ann Lieb; and brothers Vincent and Henry Carpinello. Survived by children: Susan (James) Kiser, Middletown, Maryland; Diana (Richard) Stoltz, New Stanton, Pa.; Sharon (James) Burkett; Ebensburg; Nicholas (Beth) Lieb, Hastings; Lorena (Mark) Westrick, Sanford, North Carolina; and Rebecca (Jennifer) Lieb, Ebensburg, Also grandchildren: Kristen, Erika & Kelly, Janna, Rebecca & Travis, Nicholas, Cory, Forest, & Brooke, and Diana & Dylan, and 4 great-grandchildren. Also survived by brother, Nicholas (Mildred) Carpinello, Jr., and sister Barbara (Les) Kline, all of Hastings. Marie loved caring for her flowers, cooking and doting over her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, where the family will gather at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 4th, until the time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., the Rev. Msgr. David Lockard, celebrant. Entombment at Holy Name Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Masses & Spiritual Bouquets or donations to the UPMC Altoona Hospice Program.
