Obituary of Dale R. Lauer

LAUER – Dale R., 61, of Ebensburg, PA, passed away June 7, 2018 at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Zion, IL. Born November 3, 1956 in Johnstown, PA. Preceded in death by father, Cletus “Skip” Lauer; and father-in-law, Robert “Bob” Simmers. Survived by wife of 38 years, the former Cheryl Simmers; sons, Joel, Brock and Ryan; and mother, Maxine Lauer. Brother of Gary Lauer; Linda Reese; and Mark Lauer; Also survived by mother-in-law, Ida Simmers; brother-in-law of John and Linda Fornari; and James and Christine Laverick; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dale will be forever remembered for his honesty, loyalty, kindness and willingness to help others. Just like his outlook on life, Dale had an unwavering positive attitude and gave words of encouragement to those that he coached. A special thank you to his nurse care manager, Lynn, whom has become a part of our family. Also, thank you to Doctors Redei, Abutalib and Haider, along with all of the staff on the stem cell unit at CTCA. Dale will be greatly missed by his family and friends, especially his CTCA buddies Neil, Ricky and Andy. At Dale’s request, there will be no visitation or viewing. A Celebration of the Life of Dale R. Lauer will be held on Sunday, June 24, 2018 starting at 3:00 p.m. at Bishop Carroll Catholic High School (cafeteria), 728 Ben Franklin Highway, Ebensburg, PA 15931; with non-alcoholic drinks and Dale’s favorite dessert to follow. Pastor Geno Bartoletti, officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations towards The livelikeDALE Foundation, Inc., 130 E.
