GETTY – Adam, 34, of Ebensburg, passed away October 1, 2018 at home. Born March 7, 1984 in Johnstown, son of David and Mary (Schilling) Getty. Preceded in death by maternal grandparents Andrew & Nellie Schilling, and paternal grandparents Ben & Sarah “Sally” Getty; paternal aunts, Dorathy Kimball, and Donna Lambing; and paternal uncle, Dale Getty. Survived by parents, at home; brother Brian (Susan) Getty, Vero Beach, Florida; Adam’s girlfriend, Amy Mackanick, and her daughter Kylie, Nanty Glo; Aunts: Nancy (Richard) Hudimac, Sidman; Rosemary (Tom) McConnell, Portage; and numerous cousins, including: Eric (Camille) Hudimac; Mark (Colleen) Hudimac, Michelle Hudimac, and her children Bobby & Carson; Kathryn (Kevin) Coleman; Karen (Bobby) Hogan; John (Nancy) Kimball; Sally and Rebecca Kimball; Jennifer (Larry) Collier; Terry (Laurie) Gilliland; Tim (Kim) Gilliland; Scott Getty and his fiancé Mindy; Ben Getty and his daughter Camryn. A graduate of Cambria Heights High School, Adam attained his Bachelor in Science degree in Management Information Systems from I.U.P. in 2007. He had been employed as an IT specialist at Moorefield Communications in Altoona. An accomplished guitarist, he enjoyed target shooting and golf. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Thursday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday at Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, the Rev. David Lockard, celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations in Adam’s memory may be made to the Cambria County Make-A-Wish Foundation.
