GARMAN – Frances (Weaver) 93, formerly of Colver, passed away January 3, 2019 at Maplewinds Care Center. Born May 23, 1925 in Scalp Level, Somerset County, daughter of the late Warren and Freda (Shumaker) Weaver. Preceded in death by husband (Ralph) Bruce Garman, to whom she was married 58 years; son-in-law Edwin Buterbaugh, great-grandson Aaron Christian Bonyai, brother Robert Weaver, sister Joan Jessel, and sister-in-law Jeannette Weaver. Survived by daughters Pamela Buterbaugh, Canada; and Karen Garman, Colver. Also grandchildren: Alan (Marlene) Buterbaugh, Diane (Scott) Mertz, Tracy (Chris) Bonyai, Sean (Roxanne) McKotch, and Courtney (Justin) Latuch; great-grandchildren: P.J., Mark, Jessica, Rachel, Alex, Eric, Matthew, Andrew, Sarah, Hunter, Austin, Victoria, Tony, Adam and Stephen; and great-great grandson Cruz; brother Warren E. Weaver, Richland Twp., and sister-in-law Liz Weaver, Johnstown. A longtime member of the Ebensburg United Church of Christ (Congregational) and the church’s Woman’s Fellowship. She was an avid reader, enjoyed tending to her flower garden, and looked forward to her annual trips to Nag’s Head, North Carolina with her family and friends. Frances was also a longtime Avon lady in the area with almost 30 years of service. Friends will be received from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m., Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Rev Robert Kephart, officiating. Entombment at Richland Mausoleum. Grateful thanks is extended to the loving caregivers at Maplewinds Care Center and 365 Hospice.
