TOMB – James M, 89, of Ebensburg, went home to be with the Lord, February 15, 2019 at Cambria Care Center. Born June 4, 1929 in Brenizer, Westmoreland County, son of the late Anson and Dora Tomb. Preceded in death by brothers, Allen (Rosemary) Tomb and Lawrence Tomb and sister, Carmen (Rev. Eldon) Kline. Survived by wife, Eva (Macchioni-Feath) Tomb, to whom he was married 43 years; Jim’s children: Daniel (Emily), of Indiana; Linda (Rev Keith) Hulton, Vonore, TN., and Marcia (Duane) Kresge, Lynchburg, Virginia; Eva’s sons: David (Donna) Feath, Harrisburg, Pa.; Matthew (Daniela) Feath, Palm Dessert, CA; and Walter Feath, Ebensburg. Also 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Shirley Tomb, Sun City, Arizona; and Jim’s four-footed friend “Kitty Kat”. Jim was a Korean War Army veteran, the recipient of the Army of Occupation Medal. He had many jobs in his lifetime, including dairy farmer, coal miner, tour bus driver, truck driver, and charter pilot for Penn Air and a flight instructor. He became a lay minister in the Presbyterian Church in 1999 and retired from ministry at the Fort Palmer Evangelical Presbyterian Church with 13 years of service. Friends will be received at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc. today, (Sunday) from 2:00 p.m., until the time of funeral service at 6:00 p.m., the Rev. Dr. Paul McCracken, officiating. Private interment at Lloyd Cemetery. A Memorial Service will also be held at a later date at the Fort Palmer Church, Ligonier. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s memory may be made to the Ebensburg Area Ambulance Association or to Jim’s family for donations to some of Jim’s favorite charities.
