SHUMAN - Paul Sr., 93, Nanty Glo, died Dec. 7, 2005. Born May 31, 1912, in Jackson Township, son of William and Grace (Bowers) Shuman. Preceded in death by son, Paul Shuman Jr.; grandson, David Alan Shuman; first wife, Vera Mae (Evans) Shuman; second wife, Annabell (Ertel) Shuman; brother, Clair Shuman; and sister, Harriett Keylon. Survived by wife of 14 years, Cecelia (Gresh); children, Walter Jr., Indiana; Anna (Gresh) McMullen, and family, Colver; Paul, Ohio; Stephan, and family, Ohio; Lawrence, and family, Johnstown; David, and family, Bedford; and Nicholas, Mark and Matthew, all of Nanty Glo; daughter-in-law, C. Sally Leonard Shuman; three grandchildren, James Shuman, Nanty Glo; Daniel Shuman, Conway; and Karen, married to Al Pagano, Mundys Corner; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Doris Chilton, and family, North Carolina. Employed as the superintendent of the Department of Transportation and a retired coal miner. He ran Shuman Coal Co. A World War II Army Airborne veteran. Member of VFW Post 3489, Nanty Glo; American Legion Post 619, Nanty Glo; AARP; and UMWA, District 2. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Pike Brethren Cemetery, Mundys Corner.
