Younkin - Charles Fred, 78, of Mundys Corner, died January 10, 2006 unexpectedly at home. Born November 14, 1927 in Humbert, Pa. son of the late Cyrus and Grace (Crawford) Younkin. Preceded in death by infant son Charles, son Jeffrey, and brothers: Lester "Ray", Paul "Pete", George "Popeye", and Edwin and Park Younkin. Survived by loving wife of 52 years, Margaret "Marge" Hancharick; and these children: Deborah "Debbie", and husband George McMillan, Tionesta; Charlene "Charley" Younkin, Moxham; Margaret Rose "Margy" Younkin, and fiance' Aaron Ford, Salix; son-in-law, Joseph Krampy of Marianna; grandchildren: Joseph "Joey" and wife Donna (Decker) Krampy; Jessica "Jessie" Krampy and fiance Paul Miller; Kiara Rose "Buttons" Younkin, Arionna "Little Rosie" Younkin, Kris Cochran, Timmy Schilling, and great-grandson Wyatt Joseph Miller. Also survived by brother Edward "Wimp" Younkin, of Belsano.
Retired with 24 years of service with Bethlehem Mines #33. Member of U.M.W.A. Fred loved working in his garage, bird watching and spending time with his grandchildren. He will miss his close friends Ron and Pat from the Tire Outlet. At Fred's request, there will be no viewing. Friends and Family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church, Mundys Corner, the Rev. Paul Robine, celebrant. Committal at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Fred's memory may be made to the Leukemia Society. The Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo is assisting the family.
