MAKIN – Darlene A., 60, of South Ebensburg, passed away Aug. 25, 2019. Born Aug. 29, 1958 in Spangler, daughter of the late Paul and Dorothy (Grove) Schenk. Preceded in death by sister in law, Debbie Makin; brother in law, Bobby Makin. Survived by husband, Steve, to whom she was married for 32 years; and children, Stephen (Elizabeth) Makin; Michael (partner, Marcus) Makin; and Codi Makin. Grandchildren, Milo, Oliver and Audrey. Sister of Ray (Mary Kay) Schenk; Hill (Diane) Schenk; Pete (Donna) Schenk; John Schenk; and Doreen (Jim) Zupon; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Also survived by mother and father in law, Ann and Bob Makin;and sisters in law, Becky Klezek and Sandy Sossong; Member of South Ebensburg United Church of Christ. Darlene was an avid runner, having ran several marathons. She loved her children and grandchildren and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Friends will be received from 10:30 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at First United Church of Christ, Ebensburg, Pastor T.J. Lucas, officiating. Interment, Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers donations in Darlene’s memory may be made to The American Cancer Society.
