Obituary of JoAnn Lipps

LIPPS - JoAnn "Jo", 47, of Mt. Airy, Maryland, formerly of Ebensburg died peacefully surrounded by family and friends, December 14, 2005 at home. Born November 26, 1958 in Colver, daughter of Harold and Mary Sue "Suzie" (Pryce) Lipps. Preceded in death by father, maternal grandparents John and Rita Pryce and paternal grandparents William and Anna Lipps. Survived by mother, Mary Sue "Suzie" Lipps, Ebensburg; brother Robert and wife Lorrie, Duluth, Georgia; sister Patricia and husband Mark Myers, Union Bridge, Maryland; and nieces and nephews: Megan, Erin, Justin Jack and Olivia. Also survived by her beloved pet Callie. A 1977 graduate of Bishop Carroll High School, she attended the Pennsylvania State University. Employed as a senior printed circuit board designer for the Hughes Network Systems in Germantown, Maryland. Member of St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Libertytown, Maryland. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where vigil prayer service will be held that evening. Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., Monday, at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus, celebrant. Committal at Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jo's love of genealogy may be made to Cambria County Historical Society.
