SPINNER - Joseph R., 90, Ebensburg, died Jan. 4, 2006. Born Feb. 9, 1915, in Portage R.D., son of Louis and Julia (Chernisky) Spinner. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Rose Heiss; infant son, Paul; and sisters, Anna Deskevich, Mildred Repko, Mary Sobotka and Julia Willebran. Survived by these children: Rose Ann, wife of John Servinsky Jr., Loretto; Joseph L., married to the former Suzette Wirfel, Lilly; and Donna M. Hall, Shippensburg; and five grandchildren, John Joseph Servinsky III, Adam, Julia, Emily and Gina Spinner. Brother of Stephen, Altoona; Dorothy Voss, Portage; and George, Cresson. Retired from PennDOT, Ebensburg office, as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator with 40 years of service. Charter member of Knights of Columbus Council of Our Lady of Loretto 11196; 4th Degree Knights of the Prince Gallitzin Assembly 919; and member of Munster Grange 1117. Joe was an avid hunter and enjoyed working on his family farm. Joe also was active in his church, working on dinners and bazaars. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Matevish -- Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where vigil wake service will be held in the afternoon. Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, Loretto, the Rev. Msgr. Timothy Swope. Committal, St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Cresson. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Michael School in Loretto, in Joe's memory.
