GEORGE - Howard E., "Howdy" 90, of Colver, went to be with the Lord, January 7, 2006 at home. Born December 9, 1915 in Lilly, son of the late Zachariah and Elizabeth (Short) George. Last surviving member of his immediate family. Preceeded in death by brothers Bill, Clifford, Calvin, Fred and Leo. Sisters Edith Crum and Ethel Weaver, an infant brother Edward and grandson Scott Rowser. Survived by wife, of 60 years, Augusta L. (White) whom he married on December 18, 1945, and children: Carol E. and husband Carl Rowser, of Bedford; David H. and wife Barb of Colver; and Barb and husband Steve Verbosky, also of Colver. Also survived by 5 Grandchildren 4 Great Grandchildren and one on the way! Retired from Eastern Gas & Fuel Co. WW II Army veteran. Member of Carrolltown American Legion. Member UMWA. An avid camper, Howdy enjoyed hunting, traveling and spending time with his family. Friends will be received from 11am until time of funeral service at 1 pm on Tuesday at the Askew- Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, the Rev. Dr. Stanley Bhasker officiating. Interment Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, donations in Howdy's memory may be made to Colver 40-Tech.
