RUBIS – Goldie, 101, of Vintondale, passed away Aug. 31, 2009 at Memorial Medical Center. Born Nov. 3, 1907 in Scalp Level, daughter of the late Steve and Theresa (Plank) Lutz. Preceded in death by husband, James, daughters, Jennie Kolesar, Mary Medwick, son James, and three infant sons. Survived by sons, Michael and wife Jean, Texas; John, of Vintondale; and Franklin and partner in life, Leroy T. Lewis, of North Carolina.; 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. Also survived by daughter in law, Ella Mae Rubis, Somerset; and son in law, Oliver Medwick, Michigan. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Wednesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass 11am Thursday at SS. Timothy & Mark Chapel, Vintondale, the Rev. James H. Conrad, S.T.L., celebrant. Committal, Holy Name Cemetery, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers donations in Goldies’ memory may be made to SS. Timothy & Mark Chapel Memorial Fund or Conemaugh Regional Hospice.
