Barber, James E., 87 of Hagerstown, Maryland, and formerly of Ebensburg, died November 4, 2004 in Hagerstown. Born September 2, 1917 in Colver, son of the late Samuel and Caterina (Pugliese) Barber. Preceded in death by sisters: Mary Lokey, Julia Tishok, and Josephine Salvetti; and brothers: Samuel, Leonard, & Richard Barber. Survived by wife, the former Anna Crisafulli, to whom he was married 66 years, and daughter Kathryn Ann, both of Hagerstown; grandchildren: Jill Marie, and her husband Joseph Ritter, and Anthony James Twigg and his wife Tara; also great-grandchildren: Katlyn & Matthew Ritter, and Kara, Emily, & Corrine Twigg, brother William Barber, of Florida, and sister, Theresa Eppolito, of Johnstown. Member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Hagerstown, Holy Name Roman Catholic Church in Ebensburg, as well as the Nocturnal Adoration Society. Longtime member of Council #522, Knights of Columbus. A member of the Prince Gallitzin Assembly of the Knights of Columbus (Fourth Degree). Jim retired from Revloc Mine #32, he was an avid golfer and a founding member of the Ebensburg Bowling League. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc.,Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held Sunday evening. Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., Monday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus, celebrant. Committal at Holy Name Mausoleum. A Knights of Columbus Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home and the Prince Gallitzin Assembly K of C will provide an honor guard from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
