LONESKY - Harry F. "Spunk," 81, of Vintondale, went to be with the Lord
June 25, 2006, at Select Specialty Hospital. Born Sept. 24, 1924, in
Watkins, Pa., son of the late Harry and Catherine Lonesky. Preceded in
death by sisters, Susan Stefanick and Mary Costello, and grandchildren,
Nikole and Christopher. Last surviving member of his immediate family.
Survived by wife of 56 years, the former Sophie Zoski, and children,
Chrisie, and husband, John Piatiak, of Northern Cambria; Greg of
Indiana, Pa.; Harry M., and wife, Rosemary (Gruller), of Nanty Glo;
Mark, and wife, Patti (Hamilton), of Seaville, N.J.; Paul of
Elizabethtown, Pa.; and Bob, at home. Also survived by 15 grandchildren,
eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Lifelong
member of SS. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, Vintondale. Korean War
veteran, having served in the Army. Member of Vintondale VFW Post #5211.
An avid pierogie maker and owner of the former Pierogie Palace of Nanty
Glo. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the
Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Nanty Glo, where Panachida will be held
at 9 a.m. Wednesday, followed by funeral service at 10 a.m. at SS. Peter
& Paul Orthodox Church, Vintondale, the Rev. Father Grigori Tsjuman
officiating. Interment, SS. Peter & Paul Orthodox Cemetery. In lieu of
flowers, donations in Harry's memory may be made to SS. Peter & Paul
Orthodox Church, Vintondale. Military rites by local veterans organization.
