GLASS - James F., age 76, of Ebensburg, died July 1, 2006, at Conemaugh Hospital. Born May 20, 1930, in Cresson, son of Fidelis A. and Etta B. (Hauck) Glass. Preceded in death by parents and brothers, Homer, Adrian, Donald, Father Gerald, Alfred and Raymond. Survived by wife, the former Bernice R. Cannonie, and these children: Janice, wife of Bert Noonan, Summerhill; Karen, Anchorage, Alaska; and Debra O'Hara, Ebensburg; grandchildren, Julie, Pamela and Daniel O'Hara. Brother of Albert Glass, New Jersey; Rose Dennison, Huntingdon; Audrey Glass, Ebensburg; Milton Hauck, Erie; and Howard Glass, Sharon. Death ends a marriage union of 54 years. Member of Holy Name Parish, where he served as an usher and Eucharistic minister, and member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society. U.S. Air Force veteran of Korean War, serving from 1951 to 1955. Manager of the Rivoli Theater, Ebensburg, manager of Cambria Thrift Consumer Discount Co., Ebensburg, for 33 years. Upon his retirement, he drove for Laidlaw School Bus Co. for eight years. Former member of Ebensburg Kiwanis Club and Altoona-Johnstown Cursillo Movement. Friends received from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where vigil wake services will be held Wednesday evening. Funeral Mass, 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Monsignor Arnold L. Gaus. Committal, Holy Name Cemetery, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Holy Name School Angel Fund in Jim's memory.
