HUGHES - Henrietta M. (Evans), 85, of Ebensburg, passed away July 4,
2006, at Windber Hospice. Born July 25, 1920, in Ebensburg, daughter of
the late Earl S. and Freida O. (Owens) Evans. Survived by husband of 65
years, Roger E. Hughes; daughter, Linda Mandrick-Harvey, Fort Myers,
Fla.; son, Col. Roger D., and wife, Judith (Rylke), Fredericksburg, Va.;
eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Mahlon R.,
and wife, Roberta (Hughes) Evans, Beaver Falls, Pa. Lifelong member of
Ebensburg First United Church of Christ. A soprano soloist in Ebensburg
and active in the church choir for nearly 40 years. Henrietta enjoyed
music, needlework and oil painting. Friends will be received from 2 to 4
and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc.,
Ebensburg, and from 10:30 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m.
Saturday at Ebensburg First United Church of Christ, the Rev. William
Thwing officiating. Interment, Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg. In lieu of
flowers, donations in Henrietta's memory may be made to Windber Hospice
or Ebensburg First United Church of Christ Memorial Fund.
