Hughes, James T. "Tom", 86, of E. Lloyd Street, Ebensburg, died November 30, 2004 at Windber Hospice. Born February 1, 1918 in Cambria Twp., son of the late Elmer and Emma (Roberts) Hughes. Preceded in death wife, the former Neva June Seaman, and sister Ann. Survived by sons: Douglas, married to the former Sally Jo Swanboro; Westmont; David, married to the former Norma Jean Eppley, West Granby, Connecticut; Daniel, married to the former Catherine Hart, of Springfield, Virginia; grandchildren: Kirk (Amy) Hughes; Kristi (Tim) Wilt; Kelly (Michael) Katto; Keri Jo (Keith) Fortson; Kory (Robin) Hughes; Kimberly (Frank) Sitterle; Heather (Wayne) Shire; Michelle (Chris) Cramer; Brian Hughes; Jennifer (Kevin) Logan; Stephen Hughes and 21 great-grandchildren. Brother of Roger (Henrietta) Hughes; and Marion Templeton of Ebensburg; Fred Hughes, State College; Nancy Stephenson of Wisconsin; Roberta Evans, Beaver Falls; Twila Claycomb, Davidsville; Ike (Louis) Hughes, Ebensburg, and Carolyn (Jim) Maurer of Ebensburg & Florida. Mr. Hughes was a member of First Ebensburg United Church of Christ (Congregational) Retired from Bethlehem Steel Corporation and the US Postal Service. Former member of the former Beaverdale/Wilmore School Board. And avid golder, he loved to play golf every day in any weather. Friends will be received from 6-8 pm, Thursday and 2-4 & 6-8 pm, Friday, at Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg. Funeral Service at 11:00 am, Saturday at the Ebensburg First United Church Of Christ, the Rev. William C. Thwing, officiating. Interment at Lloyd Cemetery. Contributions in Tom's memory may be made to the Ebensburg First United Church of Christ Memorial Fund or the Windber Hospice.
