RODGERS - William F. Jr. "Bird Eggs," 75, Nanty Glo, passed away July 15, 2006, at Select Specialty Hospital after a very brief illness. Born July 27, 1930, in Nanty Glo, son of the late William F. Rodgers Sr. and Ann (Hayes) Rodgers. Preceded in death by infant sister and brother, Connie and Donald Rodgers, and brother, John "Jack" Rodgers. Survived by loving wife of 50 years, the former Velma Peach. The couple just celebrated their golden anniversary on June 16, 2006. Also survived by daughters, Joyce Ann of Ebensburg; and Kathy Lynn, wife of Christopher Zamboni, of Nanty Glo; three grandsons, whom he adored, Cory C. of Pittsburgh, married to the former Brandi Hoffman, the couple was married four years ago on Pap's birthday; Christopher Ryan, his pap's "main man"; and Curt Allen, his pap's "baby and TV buddy." Survived by brothers, Edward (Donna Kline) of Grosse Ile, Mich., and Ronald (Judy Kerr) of Akron, Ohio; sister, Eileen, married to Sherman Jones, of Mechanicsville, Md.; and sister-in-law, Lucy Rodgers of Cleveland, Ohio. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, who loved his family and his beloved, deceased cocker spaniel, "Co Co." He worked hard, had fun and the gift of making people laugh. He will be deeply missed. Retired from Bethlehem Mine 33 and a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Nanty Glo, where funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where liturgical wake service will be held Monday evening. Donations in Bill's memory may be made to St. Mary's Church, the United Methodist Church or the Cambria County Humane Society.
