Obituary of William E. Nyland

NYLAND - William E., age 80, formerly of Strongstown, Pa., passed away early Tuesday morning in Mercy Medical Center. A retired employee of the Ford Motor Co., he was a member of the VFW Post 7605 in Twin Rocks, Pa.; Polish Club and Moose Lodge #207, both in Nanty Glo, Pa.; Blue Goose Sportsman Club in Belsano, Pa.; 32nd Degree Mason of the Louisville Temple Lodge #460 and the Scottish Rite of Canton, Ohio. Mr. Nyland was an Army veteran of World War II. Preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. and Rose Nyland; wife, Charlotte E. Nyland, on July 29, 1999; brothers, Charles, John and Robert Nyland. He is survived by his daughters, Donna Williams and Cindy Travers, both of Sarasota, Fla.; sons, William and Randy Nyland, both of Canton, Ohio; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Bracken and Betty Nyland; and mother-in-law, Thelma Fitz. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Rossi Funeral Home, where Masonic Services will be held at 5:30. Mr. Nyland will be transported to Nanty Glo, Pa., where calling hours will be held on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery in Indiana County, Pa.
