Obituary of Lillian Rose Roland

ROLAND - Lillian Rose, 78, Arbutus Park Manor, Johnstown, formerly of Ebensburg, died July 26, 2006, at the manor. Born Sept. 24, 1927, in North Braddock, daughter of Anthony and Mary E. (Baldwin) Vernellis. Preceded in death by parents, and husband, Gale B., on May 8, 2004. Survived by these children: Carol, wife of William H. Jahnke, Cuba, N.Y.; Gale, married to the former Dawn Harstead, Danville; Gwen, wife of Raymond W. Berardinelli, Gallitzin; Barbara, wife of Mark Bucci, Johnstown; Robert, married to the former Vicki Boyer, Johnstown; and Beverly Roland Geibig, wife of Theodore S. Geibig Jr., Johnstown; 16 grandchildren; and four great-granddaughters. Retired from Ebensburg State Center and was the former coordinator for the foster grandparent's program at the center. Lillian enjoyed her family, traveling and bird watching. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Matevish -- Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where vigil wake service will be held Friday evening. Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus. Committal, Holy Name Mausoleum, Ebensburg.
