George - Augusta L. "Gussie" (White), 85 of Colver, went to be with the Lord, August 16, 2006 at the Altoona Center For Nursing Care. Born November 3, 1920 in Springvale, Maine, daughter of the late Mott Hayes and Mary (Reyer) White. Preceded in death by step-mother Pauline Pelletier; husband of 60 years, Howard E. "Howdy" George, who died January 7, 2006, grandson Scott Rowser, brother Hayes and sister Doris Jones.
Survived by children: Carol E., wife of Carl Rowser, Bedford; David H., and wife Barb, of Colver, and Barb, wife of Steve Verbosky, also of Colver, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Sister of Pauline Rock, Sanford, Maine, and Helen Rickards, of Washington State.
A member of the Colver Presbyterian Church, the American Legion Auxiliary for 44 years,
and former member of the Cambria Twp. Fire Ladies Auxiliary.
Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m., until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m., on Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, James Tomb, officiating. Interment at Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gussie's memory may be made to the Colver 40-tech.
