DOW - David A. , 34, of Ebensburg, died August 20, 2006 at home. Born January 3, 1972 in Johnstown, son of Richard J. and Therese L. (Smithbauer) Dow. Preceded in death by maternal grandparents Vera and Richard Smithbauer and paternal grandparents George and Elizabeth Dow. Survived by parents, of Ebensburg; daughter, Karissa Michelle Dow; son, Mason Todd Dow; sisters Vanessa Anne and husband Gary Bailey of Videlia, Georgia and Amanda Marie and husband James Robinson of Swansboro, North Carolina; brother Justin Elliott and wife Sandy (Flaherty) Dow of Phoenix, Arizona; nieces and nephews, Alex, Richie and Gabriel Robinson, Elisabeth and Isaac Bailey; Vanessa Landrum and Hunter Dow and numerous aunts and uncles. Member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Ebensburg. Former parts clerk for Smith Transport Co. and formerly employed at DRS - Laurel Technologies. David had attended Central Cambria High School, UPJ, and was a graduate of WrightCo. Technologies. A gentle soul, David loved his children and enjoyed his family who he visited almost daily. Baseball was his passion, he loved following the Pirates & Steelers and he enjoyed fishing & golf. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Wednesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg,where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass 11:00am Thursday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus, celebrant. Committal Holy Name Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in David's memory may be made to Ebensburg Area Ambulance Association.
