MYRICK - Elvin L. "Sleepy," age 84, Merritt Island, Fla., formerly of Ebensburg, died Sept. 12, 2006, at home. Born July 19, 1922, in Holdenville, Okla. Preceded in death by wife, the former Betty Thomas of Ebensburg. Survived by children, Connie Teinart, Amarillo, Texas, and Michael Myrick, Merritt Island, and granddaughters, Heather and Jenny Carter. Elvin worked in pipeline construction and more recently worked in the field of remote sensing. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Philippines, and was a pilot and member of OX-5 Club. Friends received from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where vigil wake services will be said Friday evening. Funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Mundys Corner, the Rev. Paul Robine. Committal, Holy Name Cemetery, Ebensburg.
