WALLET - George J. Sr., "Smokey," 78, Jackson Township, died Sept. 18, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center. Born April 8, 1928, in Boswell, son of the late Andrew and Anita (Russian) Walat. Preceded in death by brothers, Martin and Dan; sisters, Catherine, Marie, Joan, Sylvia and Louise; and granddaughter-in-law, Crystal (McGlynn) Wallet. Surviving are sons, John, married to former Wanda Strayer, Vinco, and George Jr., married to former Barbara Seamen, both of Vinco; grandchildren, Patrick, Mark, Jeffrey and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Karissa and Emma; brothers, Walter, and wife, Kay, and Chizzie, all of Boswell; and sisters, Frances Lewis and Isabelle Gonger, both of Somerset. Retired from Bethlehem Steel. U.S. Army veteran. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, the Rev. Martin Lowery officiating. Interment to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Johnstown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jackson Township Fire Company. Military services will be conducted by the local veterans organizations.
