Gray - Mary (Battista), 87, of Garvey Manor, Hollidaysburg, and formerly of Ebensburg, died October 12, 2006 at the manor. Born August 17, 1919 in Ebensburg, daughter of the late Pasquale and Anna Marie (Ietto) Battista. Preceded in death by husband of 61 years, John Laird "Jack" Gray; brothers John, William, Archangelo, Joseph and Frank Battista and sisters Katherine and Domenica. Survived by daughter, Linda Gray and husband Danny Blevins, Summerville, South Carolina; grandsons Jeffrey Robinson, Emeryville, California, Keith Robinson, Los Angeles, California and Byron Blevins, of New York City. Also survived by brothers: Vincent J. "Jim" Battista, Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; Domenick Battista, of Fredericksburg, Virginia; sister Anne Anna, of Ebensburg and numerous nieces and nephews. A graduate of the former Ebensburg - Cambria High School. Mary was a member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church and the Ebensburg Senior Citizens. During her husbandýs career with the federal government, Mary had resided in Fairfax, Virginia for many years, and served as secretary of the Fairfax Country Club. Upon the couple's retirement, they returned to Ebensburg to be close to family and old friends. Mary moved to Garvey Manor in Hollidaysburg upon her husband's passing in 2002. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held Sunday evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus, celebrant. Committal at Holy Name Mausoleum. Memorial Contributions may be made in Mary's memory to the American Cancer Society.
