SPONSKY - Grace M., 83, Ebensburg, formerly of Bakerton, died Oct. 25, 2006, at home. Born Aug. 21, 1923, in Hastings, the daughter of Anthony and Elizabeth (Coccarro) Martucci. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Sylvester J. Sponsky, who died Sept. 30, 1987; sisters, Mary Byrnes, Eleanor Tindiglia and Josephine and Theresa Martucci. Survived by daughters: Sandra, wife of Robert Sheplar, Pittsburgh; Barbara, wife of Albert "Mick" Westrick, Ebensburg; and Sylvia, wife of David Kantor, Reading; grandchildren, Lianne Sheplar, Ryan (Carissa) Westrick, Todd (Alissa) Westrick, Zachary and Adam Westrick; and Christopher and Nicole Kantor; and great-grandchildren, Will, Cameron and Sophie Grace. Sister of Gloria (Mark) Pacella, Gibsonia, Pa.; Gilda (the late R. Thomas) Byrnes, Northern Cambria; and Sylvia (John) Voransky, Mayfield Heights, Ohio.. Former member of Sacred Heart/St. Jude Catholic Church, Bakerton. Member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg. Member of VFW Post 8897 Ladies Auxiliary, Bakerton. Formerly employed as a physical therapy assistant at Laurel Crest Manor. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Monsignor Arnold L. Gaus, celebrant. Committal, Sacred Heart Cemetery, Bakerton. Moriconi Funeral Home Inc., Northern Cambria, is in charge of arrangements.
