ANDERSON - Joseph A., Sr. , 97, of Vintondale, passed away July 8, 2005 atMemorial Medical Center. Born October 3, 1907 in Hibernia, New Jersey, son of the late Joseph and Mary Anderson. Preceded in death by wife, former Eva J. (Oblackovich) Anderson, brothers Frank, Andrew, and Stephen and sisters Anne and Mary. Survived by children Josephine & husband Ron Thomas, of Cramer, PA; Martha & husband Clayton Arnold, Camp Hill, PA; Joseph Jr., & wife Karen (Mesoros), of Johnstown; and David & wife Heather (Lohr), of Ohio. Also survived by brother John & wife Margie, of Vintondale; and sisters Sonja Goushy, of New Jersey; and Barbara Morgan, of Colorado; Also 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Member of SS. Timothy & Mark Catholic Chapel, Vintondale. Member of the Indiana Radio Club and Vintondale Firemans Club. Member of UMWA, Joseph completed a 45 year career as a mineworker and electrician. He enjoyed a long and healthy retirement with his children and grandchildren, and continued to pursue his interests in electronics, amateur radio and travel throughout his retirement years. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9pm on Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc, Nanty Glo, where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass at 11 am Monday at SS. Timothy& Mark Chapel, Vintondale, the Rev. James H. Conrad, S.T.L., celebrant. Committal Armagh Cemetery. Donation in Joseph's memory may be made to his church or Vintondale Vol. Fire Co.
