Obituary of Mary Hawksworth

Hawksworth - Mary (Domenick), 81, of Ebensburg, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2006, surrounded in the love of her family. Born March 17, 1925 in Colver, daughter of the late Frank and Caroline (Conigy) Domenick. She was preceded in death by her loving husband John Scott Hawksworth, Sr., they had been married fro 51 years (1948-1999).
She is survived by a daughter Carolyn M. Gall (Hawksworth) and husband Robert Gall, Irwin; son, John Scott Hawskworth Jr., and wife Deborah, Ebensburg; grandchildren: Jennifer (Gall) Annichine and husband Michael, Melissa Gall Helman and husband Shawn, David Gall, Michael Hawksworth and fiancé Kirstin Ritchey, and Lisa Hawksworth; and two great-grandhcildren Alyssa and Anthony Annichine. She is also survived by two sisters Evelyn Falchini and Frances Romani, both of Ebensburg.
Mary had been a lifelong resident of Ebensburg where she was well known for her cake decorating and baking. She had worked as a baker and decorator in her father's bakery, the former Home Baking Company in Ebensburg. She taught baking and decorating at Admiral Peary Vo-Tech and worked as a dietary assistant. She retired from Ebensburg Center as a Dietary Supervisor. A member of Holy Name Catholic Church where she enjoyed volunteering for many of the church's activities. She was involved in the Grief Committee, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, VFW Auxillary and was a former Boy and Girl Scout Leader with her children. She especially enjoyed spending time with her many friends and family.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held Sunday evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus, celebrant. Committal at Holy Name Cemetery.
Contributions in Mary's memory may be made to the Dauntless Fire Company or the John Paul II Manor in Cresson.
