ANDERSON - Walter Ellsworth, 78, Ebensburg, died Dec. 26, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Feb. 17, 1928, in Amsbry, son of the late Ellsworth and Lillian (Grove) Anderson. Preceded in death by sisters and brother, Betty, Milford Hoffman, Kate Raspotnick, Ada Strengost and Margaret Stiles. Survived by wife, the former Grace Casper, Ebensburg, and these children: Walter Timothy (Janice), Revloc; Dennis Andrew, Ebensburg; Brian (Terri), Revloc; and Christopher, Ebensburg; also grandchildren: Timothy, Jamie, Daniel, Jordan, Jarred and Lindsey; and great-grandchild, Kalay; sisters, Minnie Little, Susan "Boots" Settle, Marlene Howard, Twilia Gittings and Donna Hoebink; and brothers, Clark and Barry. Member of Immaculate Conception Church, New Germany. He was a welder in the operating engineers local. He was a Navy veteran having served during World War II. He was a member of the Army Reserves during the Korean War and the Navy Seabees during Vietnam War. He is a lifetime member of Sankertown VFW, Portage American Legion and life member of North American Hunting Club. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, with Deacon James Janosik. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery, New Germany. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
