HAJZUS - Andrew Thomas, 91, Ebensburg, died Jan. 19, 2007, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Nov. 10, 1915, in Windber, son of Thomas and Anna (Olsavasky) Hajzus. Preceded in death by parents, and these brothers and sisters: Paul, Raymond, Susan Hajzus, Mary Lechak and Ann Peduzzi. Survived by wife, the former Evelyn Shevock; these daughters: Eileen, wife of Alan Ritko, Ohio, and Andrea, wife of Gary Gelormino, Johnstown; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Brother of Margaret Skibo, Ebensburg; Cecila Oborsky, Johnstown; John Hajzus, Colver; and Frances Baur, Sugar Grove. Retired from Eastern Gas -- Fuel Coal Company, Colver. Member of UMWA Local 860, Colver. Member of K of C Council 522, Ebensburg, and Prince Gallitzin Assembly 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Matevish -- Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where vigil wake service will be held Sunday evening. Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus. Committal, Holy Name Cemetery, Ebensburg. K of C service at 7 p.m. Sunday.
