Obituary of Anna A. DeGretto

DeGretto - Anna A. (Mazzarese), 78 of Colver, passed away peacefully January 21, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center. Born October 3, 1928 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Anthony "Pete" and Angelina (Lodico) Mazzarese. Preceded in death by husband Joseph J. DeGretto; sisters: Rose Poraczky and Lena Speranza; and brother Peter Mazzarese. Survived by sons: Michael A., married to the former Deborah Yahnke, Colver; and William J., married to the former LuAnn Kuhn, of Ebensburg. Loving "Nana" to Michael (Leslie Brown) DeGretto, Jr., Aurora, Colorado; Melinda (Bruce) Mason, Bethlehem, Pa.; Yvonne DeGretto, Cresson; and Dominique DeGretto, Ebensburg; and great-grandchildren: Madison DeGretto Engleman and Aidan Reid DeGretto. Also survived by brothers Joseph, John, Angelo, and Jack Mazzarese, all of Johnstown. Anna was a member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Ebensburg. She enjoyed playing bingo and making Italian cookies. Retired, she had worked at both Laurel Crest Manor and the Ebensburg Center in the housekeeping departments. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Thursday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held Thursday evening. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus, celebrant. Committal at Holy Name Cemetery.
