Watson - Commander Anna Olivia, BSN, USN, retired, 87, of Williamsburg, Virginia, died January 25, 2007 at the Patriots Colony in Williamsburg. Born June 6, 1919 in Wilkinsburg, PA, daughter of the late William Harry and Luella (Lloyd) Watson. Preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Blanchard and Susan Simoneau. Survived by sister, Mary Lou Wildman, of Hershey, PA, and brother William Lloyd ýKillerý Watson, and his wife Henna (Harris) Watson, of Ottumwa, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews. Commander Watson was a 1938 graduate of Ebensburg-Cambria High School. She earned her R.N. in 1943 from the Polyclinic in Harrisburg, PA. She joined the Navy Nurse Corps in June 1944. She earned her BS from Northwestern Univeristy in Chicago and Boston University. Commander Watson was a veteran of World War II, Korean War and Vietnam, serving primarily in the Pacific aboard the hospital ships Consolation and Sanctuary. Upon her retirement, she served with the American Red Cross in Boston, MA. She was a member of the Navy Nurse Corp Association, Polyclinic Alumni Association, and the Williamsburg United Methodist Church. Ann enjoyed traveling, golfing, bowling, handcrafts and bridge. Interment will be made in the family plot at Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg. A Graveside Service with military burial rites will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday at the cemetery, the Rev. Jim Farrer, Officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Navy Nurse Corps Association, P.O. Box 1099, Chatam, VA 24531.
