ILLIG - Clement A. "Snuffy" or "Bud," 75, Portage, died Jan. 27, 2007, at Memorial Medical Center. Born April 4, 1931, in Ebensburg, the son of Vincent and Marie (Frank) Illig. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Agnes Sunseri; and brother-in-law, Regis Hite. Survived by wife, Constance (Chappell) Illig, and children, Sandy Gathers, Portage; Debbie, wife of Jack Wargo, Mechanicsburg; Linda, wife of Richard Crum, West Virginia; and Robert Kukucka, married to the former Kathleen Sanders, Portage. Also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Brother of Cletus Illig, married to the former Helen Hrapchak, and Frederick Illig, married to the former Coletta Drass, both of Ebensburg; Jane, wife of Fred Shero, Carrolltown; Grace, wife of Lawrence Sedor, Revloc; Joanne, wife of Thomas Biller, Ebensburg; and Mary Hite, Patton. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Korean War Army veteran. Commander of Amvets Post 150 and member of Post 430, American Legion and Post 895, VFW. Served on the Military Funeral Ritual Team for many years and life member of Portage Volunteer Fire Company. Retired truck driver and last employed by Dox Planks. Former lumberjack and sawmill worker for Long's Lumber Co. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Mark A. Serenko Funeral Home, Portage, where the fire company will have a memorial prayer at 7 p.m. Military funeral rites will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Name Church, Ebensburg, Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus, celebrant. Committal, Holy Name Cemetery.
