Obituary of Eugene Charles Arford

ARFORD - Eugene Charles, 77, formerly of Colver, passed away Jan. 26, 2007, at Western Maryland Hospital in Hagerstown, Md. Born April 1, 1929, in Colver, son of Eugene Alvin and Edith Zimmerman Arford. "Tubby" was preceded in death by his father, Eugene; sister, Phyllis (Arford) Cook; and infant brother, James. Survived by his mother, Edith Arford; wife of 52 years, Carmilla (Cameletti), formerly of Gallitzin; daughter, Veryll Ann, and husband, Andrew Bakner, their daughter, Allison, and husband, Ray Johnston, their sons, Nicholas and Adam; daughter, Geanne Marie, and husband, Frank Quillen, their sons, Frank and Derick; and daughter, Annette Susan, and husband, Denton Lowrey. Also survived by sister, Beverly, and husband, Michael Shutack, and their son, Paul; and sister Phyllis, husband, Carroll Cook, and children, Virginia, Edwin, Patricia, Elizabeth and families. Eugene was employed by and retired from Mack Truck in Hagerstown. A U.S. Army veteran. He was a devoted family man, an avid fisherman and an enthusiastic NASCAR fan. Service will be held at St. Ann's Church in Hagerstown.
