Mahan - Jean Mary (Frailey), 97, of Indiana, formerly of Ebensburg, died February 5, 2007 at Indiana Reginal Medical Center. Born January 26, 1910 in Eleanora, Jefferson County, daughter of the late Russell B. and Maria (Lehman) Fleming. Last surviving member of her immediate family, she is preceded in death by first husband James T. Frailey, second husband Sherman L. Mahan, daughter-in-law Jane (Durbin) Frailey and brothers William, Howard and Lehman Fleming. She is survived by son James Frailey, Jr., of White Lake, Michigan; daughter Barbara, wife of Joseph Frye, Indiana; step-daughters Doris, widow of Robert Moore, Sheffield; Jane, wife of Charles Hauth, Upper St. Clair; and Margie, widow of Clair Newton, Bethel Park. Loving grandmother of Robert Shofstahl, Denver, Pa; Bobbi Shofstahl, Hatfield; James (Carolyn) Shofsstahl, Pleasanton, California; Jean Shofstahl, Lithia, Florida; Tom (Margaret) Frailey, Lake Park, Georgia; Rebecca (William) Rogers, Charkston, Michigan; Michael (Joyce) Frailey, Niwot, Colorado; Joseph Frye Jr, and Steven (Dawn) Frye, both of Indiana; Pamela Moore, Philadelphia, Rodney (Maureen) Moore, Warren, Drew Hauth, Upper St. Clair; James Newton, of Bethel Park; and 17 great-grandchildren. Jean moved to Ebensburg from Colver in 1925. She graduated from the Ebensburg-Cambria High School in 1927 and spent her adult life in Ebensburg. Her life centered around her family, friends and the Ebensburg Presbyterian Church, where she had been a member since 1927. She was ordained a Deacon in 1975. Friends will be received from 3-5 p.m., Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Pastor Jim Farrer, officiating. Interment at Lloyd Cemetery. To Jean, on her final journey, we wish her a safe trip home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Jeans memory to the Ebensburg Presbyterian Church or the Ebensburg-Cambria Public Library.
