Hessler - Stanley J., 89 of Nanty Glo, passed away June 25, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center. Born September 14, 1917 in Gallitzin, son of the late Alex and Victoria (Zeglen) Hessler. Preceded in death by wives, the former Elizabeth Andyshak, Ann Mehalko, and Velma E. Tucker; brothers, Michael, Francis, and John; and sister, Sr. Jane Frances Hessler, V.S.C. Survived by children: Donald (Victoria) Hessler and Victoria (Neil) Childs, both of Michigan; several step-children; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Brother of Ann (Pete) Puch, Nanty Glo; Alex (Irene) Hessler of Columbus, Ohio; and Walter (Mary Ann) Hessler of Nanty Glo. Retired from Bethlehem Mine #31 with 34 years of service and had worked for 15 years at the Ford Motor Plant in Michigan. An avid hunter and fisherman. Stanley was a World War II and Korean War veteran, having served in the Navy Seabees. Member of UMWA Local 1130. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 pm., Thursday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where a vigil prayer service will be held Thursday evening. Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., Friday at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Nanty Glo, the Rev. Fr. David S. Peles, celebrant. Committal at St. Mary's Cemetery. Military graveside ritual bt the Menoher Post VFW Ritual Team. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Spiritual Bouquests, Masses or donations to St. Mary's School, Nanty Glo.
