Davidson - Donald Rowland, 69, of West Highland Avenue, Ebensburg, died peacefully February 22, 2007 at Rebekah Manor, Ebensburg. Born April 9, 1937 in Johnstown, son of the late Joseph W. and Martha Marie (Thomas) Davidson.
Survived by brothers: Joseph Woods Davidson, Gastonia, North Carolina; Ronald E. Davidson, Ebensburg; and J. Paul Davidson, of Raleigh, North Carolina. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and "special saints" Jim and Laurel Lyons and their children Holly & Brooke; Bill and Amy Leary; and cousins: Kermit Thomas and Margie Griffith. Don was proud to be called "Uncle Don" by many relatives and friends. He enjoyed entertaining and will long be remembered for his "Sunday Gatherings" at his home in Ebensburg. Don was owner/operator of Ebensburg Oil & Gas Company, Inc., and the former Don Davidson Real Estate. A 1955 graduate of the Ebensburg-Cambria High School, and graduate of South Carolina's Erskine College. An Army veteran of the Korean War, Don served in the Intelligence Corps. Member of Ebensburg United Church of Christ (Congregational); Post 363 American Legion; Post 4963 VFW; Cambria County Historical Society and shareholder at the Ebensburg Country Club.
Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m., Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, the Rev. William C. Thwing, officiating. Interment at Lloyd Cemetery with flag presentation.
