SWARTZ - Roy Lorenz, went home to be with the Lord on March 1, 2007, in Stow, Ohio. He was born in Nanty Glo on Jan. 3, 1931, son of the late Clarence and Bertha (Meck) Swartz. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rolla Mae (Prindle); his brother, Albert; and sisters, Eleanor Paul, Joan Kasarnich and Jessie Kerr. He will be sadly missed by his second wife, Betty Ann (Manley) Swartz; daughter, Cheryl (Sherry) Lynn Holcomb, and close friend, Will Jenkins, Rittman, Ohio; son and daughter-in-law, Roy Bryan and Vickie Swartz, Green, Ohio; stepson and wife, William and Diana Manley, Atwater, Ohio; stepdaughter and husband, Diane and Fred Bejcek, Stow; stepdaughter, Kathy Honsaker, Chagrin Falls, Ohio; and grandchildren, Ashley, Richard, Joey, Lucas, Brittany, Rachel, Brett, Corey, Tyler and Logan. He also is survived by sisters and brothers, Dorothy Krobath, Ethel Scott and Ralph Swartz, all of New Jersey, and Melvin Swartz, Nanty Glo, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Roy attended FallsCreek Church and was retired from Alside with 33 years of service. Roy also was known as one of the best football players while attending high school and was given the nickname "Bambi" for his swift movements up and down the field. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, being outdoors in the sunshine and spending time with his family, whom he dearly loved. Friends may call at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, Ohio 44224, Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Dr. Michael Thomas will conduct service Monday at 10 a.m. at FallsCreek Community Church, 149 Northmoreland Ave., Munroe Falls, Ohio 44262.
