Edmiston - Thomas L., 77 of Crestwood Estates, Ebensburg, died March 24, 2007 in Ebensburg. Born February 15, 1930 in Vintondale R.D., son of the late Mearl and Sarah Ellen (Rager) Edmiston. Preceded in death by son Thomas L. Edmiston, Jr.; sisters: Verna Mae Courtney, Sara Hovanis, Hazel Burr, and Viola "Sue" James; and brothers Harry and Merle "Pete" Edmiston. Survived by wife, the former Anita Stinson, and children: David and William Edmiston, Ebensburg; Edward (Trisha) Edmiston, in the Philippines; Nancy Beth (Lee) Bugala, Franklin, Tennessee; Charles (Janet) Edmiston, Ebensburg; Amanda Robinson and Christopher Edmiston, Paducah, Kentucky, and step-daughter Mercedes Stinson, at home; 20 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren. Brother of Robert Edmiston of Sagertown; and Elsie Ruth Rayburn of Lansdale. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was the former owner of Edmiston Tower Company. He was President of the family owned business, SWR, INC., located in the Ebensburg Industrial Park. A life member of Post 4963 VFW, and member of Post 363 American Legion and L.O.O.M., of Ebensburg; Polish American Citizens' Club, Nanty Glo and the Rembrandt Club of St. Benedict. A Korean War veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1947 - 1950 Friends will be received from 2 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, the Rev. Calvin McCray,and Rev. Martin Koss, officiating. Interment at Lloyd Cemetery. Military graveside ritual by local veterans organizations. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom's memory may be made to the Western Pennsylvania Association of the Blind.
