KELLY - Rose A. "Posey", 96, of Laurel Crest Manor, passed away March 28, 2007 at the manor. Born August 2, 1910, daughter of the late William and Bernadette (McConnell) Flick. Last surviving member of her immediate family. On July 29, 1940 she married Clyde C. Kelly, who preceded her in death on September 11, 1967 also preceded are her brothers Cletus and Charles Flick, and sisters Marie Zeak, Margaret Flick, Stella Judd, Mildred Krug, and son in law, Raymond A. "Tony" Benjamin. Surviving are her children, Naomi Benjamin, St. Marys, PA; Carl "Cap" (Patty) Kelly, Hollidaysburg; Dr. Thomas (Jeanine) Kelly, Sarver, PA; and Cynthia (Bruce) Wise of Ebensburg. Grandchildren, Ray (Carrie) Benjamin; Dr. Mimi Benjamin; Paul (Dara) Benjamin; John (Shelbie) Benjamin; Lori (Mike) Aimino; Andy (Andrea) Kelly; and Nick (Noi) Kelly; Justin (Angela) Wise and Brian Wise. Great Grandchildren, Drew, Autumn, Kelsey, Lindsey and Lucas Benjamin. Aislinn, Dominic, Madeleine, Grace and Ellie Aimino, and Andrew Kelly. Also surviving are special cousins, Joe Strohmier; Gerry Driskel; Sr. Evangelista Strohmier, R.S.M., Marie Little and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Posey was a 1927 graduate of Mount Aloysius Academy in Cresson. She was very proud to have achieved the highest scholastic average of the entire school that year. (At that time Mount Aloysius was comprised of grades 1 through 12.) She was also the oldest living alumnus at the time of her death. She loved going to casinos, playing bingo and playing cards; and she especially loved spending time with her family and friends. Friends will be received from 2-9 pm on Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc. Ebensburg, where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am Saturday at Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus, celebrant. Committal, St. Benedicts Cemetery, Carrolltown. In lieu of flowers, donations in Poseys memory may be made to Holy Name Church Haiti Mission; or Resident Therapeutic Activity Program at Laurel Crest Manor c/o: Pamela Cox.
