EDWARDS - Merle E., 90, Belsano, died April 16, 2007, as the result of an automobile accident in Blacklick Township. Born Jan. 1, 1917, in Blacklick Township. Preceded in death by parents; first wife, Eva; brothers, Jim, Clarence, Leroy and Fred; and sister, Alice Bracken. Survived by wife, Esther, Belsano; children, William (Barbara) Edwards, Erie, and Richard (Bonnie), Erie; stepchildren, Vaughn and Joy; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-great-grandchildren; brother, Earl, and wife, Blacklick Township; and many nieces and nephews. Member of Faith United Methodist Church, Belsano. Retired as a coal miner. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo. Service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Faith United Methodist Church, Belsano, the Rev. Sharon Hamley. Interment, church cemetery.
